The Skydio 2+ is the last drone Skydio sold to the public. It arrived in January 2022 as a quiet refresh of the Skydio 2, adding two fold-up antennas that pushed controller range from 3.5 to 6 km and a bigger battery for 27 minutes in the air. The magic is the same six fisheye navigation cameras, which let it follow you through trees on its own. In August 2023 Skydio's CEO announced the end of the consumer business and the Starter, Sports, Cinema and Pro kits went away, though Skydio kept selling batteries, controllers and Beacons. If you want the most autonomous follow drone you can still fly, this is the one.

Skydio doesn't publish a known-fault list for the 2+. Check what any used drone wears out: batteries, propellers and the transport clip that has to come off the gimbal before flying or charging.

Buying guide
Only two Skydio 2+ drones are for sale, so the $1,275–1,450 band isn't a market read. The one we'd consider is a US refurbisher's aircraft at $1,500 with free shipping, sold drone only with no battery, controller or Beacon titled, so ask what's in the box and plan on buying a battery from Skydio, which still sells batteries, the Controller and the Beacon. The other is a Cinema kit with the Beacon and three batteries at $1,216 delivered, titled new but from a zero-feedback seller, so we'd pass. The 2+ is on the FAA's Remote ID list, though drones built before September 16, 2022 need Skydio's software update (21.1 or later) and a printed label, and at 800 g it must be registered with the FAA. Skydio doesn't document an owner lock, but Skydio Care doesn't pass to a new owner, so don't pay extra for it.
