The Air 3 came out in July 2023 and took its looks from the Mavic 3 Pro. It was the first Air with two cameras on the gimbal, a 24 mm wide and a 70 mm medium tele, both on 1/1.3-inch, 48 MP sensors. At 720 g it's well up on the 595 g Air 2S, and most of that weight is a bigger battery, rated for 46 minutes. It also moved to DJI's O4 video link, rated to 20 km under FCC rules. In October 2024 DJI followed it with the Air 3S, which swaps the wide camera for a 1-inch sensor. The two look alike and turn up in the same searches, so check the name on the drone and the controller in the photos.

Batteries are the main wear item, and DJI Fly shows a warning when it detects a damaged cell. DJI also says not to fly an aircraft that's been crashed or damaged, so look hard at the arms and shell.

We'd buy the Fly More Combo with the RC 2 screen controller and three batteries at $1,090 delivered from a pawn dealer, under the $1,162 median of the $800 to $1,325 band. There are at least 88 for sale, the cheapest complete kit from a rated seller is a PayMore RC-N2 Fly More bundle at $900, and bodies sold with no battery or controller ask about $600 to $780. It has built-in Remote ID, and at 720 g it must be registered with the FAA however you fly it. Ask the seller to remove it from their DJI account in DJI Fly before it ships, check that the controller is an RC-N2, RC 2, RC-N3 or RC Pro 2 (an RC-N1 or DJI RC won't work) and that the drone says Air 3, since the Air 3S looks the same, and ask for battery cycle counts and side photos of the packs. Skip the one titled BOUND, the zero-feedback sellers and copies of one Fly More title, and the $2,300 kit titled New on a used card.
