DJI announced the Mavic 3 Pro in April 2023, and it was the first DJI drone to carry three cameras on one gimbal. The main camera is the 4/3-inch, 20 MP Hasselblad from the Mavic 3. Beside it sit a 166 mm tele and the new part, a 70 mm medium tele on a 48 MP sensor, which fills the gap the Mavic 3 left between its wide and long lenses. DJI quotes 43 minutes in the air, three fewer than the Mavic 3, which weighs 63 g less. The Cine version adds a 1TB SSD and Apple ProRes. Most kits came with the DJI RC, a controller with its own screen, so check whether a listing includes it or the phone-holder RC-N1 instead.

Batteries are the main wear item. DJI rates each one for 200 cycles, says not to keep using it after that, and says not to fly an aircraft that's been crashed or damaged.

We'd buy the 3-battery kit with the DJI RC at $1,960 delivered, just under the $1,975 to $2,675 band most complete kits ask, or spend $40 more on the one with the brighter RC Pro and four batteries. There are at least 69 for sale, and a dealer's Certified Refurbished unit with the DJI RC asks $2,339 if you'd rather not buy from a private seller. It has built-in Remote ID, and at 958 g it must be registered with the FAA however you fly it. Ask the seller to remove it from their DJI account in DJI Fly before it ships, and ask for each battery's cycle count from the app, side photos showing the packs sit flat, and a short video of the gimbal leveling at power-on. Skip the low asks from zero-feedback sellers or with a stock photo, and the $4,295 kit titled NEW on a used card.
