DJI announced the Mavic 3 in November 2021, and it moved the Hasselblad camera up to a 4/3-inch, 20 MP sensor, a big step from the Mavic 2 Pro's 1-inch. A 12 MP tele camera sits beside it on the same gimbal, and a 5,000 mAh battery gives a rated 46 minutes. DJI kept adding features by firmware after launch, starting with D-Log in the first update that November and reaching US Remote ID in November 2022, so the firmware on a used one matters. The Cine version adds a 1TB SSD and Apple ProRes. The Mavic 3 Classic from late 2022 drops the tele camera, and the 2023 Mavic 3 Pro adds a third, so check which one a listing really is.

Should come with it
Check the listing photos against this list, and ask the seller about anything you can’t see. A missing piece should come off the price.
A Mavic 3 that's never been updated can be missing features DJI added later, including US Remote ID. Beyond that, batteries are the wear item, and DJI says not to use one that's swollen, leaking or been through a crash.
New to used drones? How to check a used drone covers batteries, gimbals and crash damage, and Remote ID and registration explains what the FAA expects once it’s yours.
Buying guide
We'd buy the kit with the DJI RC screen controller, two batteries, filters and a backpack at $1,129 delivered, about $300 under the $1,425 to $1,875 band most complete kits ask. There are at least 56 for sale, and a camera dealer's used Fly More Combo with the DJI RC at $1,340 delivered is the safer first buy. It has built-in US Remote ID on aircraft firmware v01.00.0900 or later, and at 895 g it must be registered with the FAA however you fly it. Ask the seller which firmware it's on and to remove it from their DJI account in DJI Fly before it ships, count two lenses on the gimbal in the photos (the Classic has one, the Mavic 3 Pro three), and ask for battery cycle counts, side photos of the packs and a short video of the gimbal leveling at power-on. Skip the zero-feedback sellers, two of whom share one Fly More title.
