Autel announced the EVO II family in January 2020 and started selling it that spring, after a coronavirus slowdown at its factory. The Pro is the 6K model, built around a 1-inch Sony sensor with an adjustable f/2.8 to f/11 aperture, and the plain EVO II shares everything but the camera. A global chip shortage then forced two rebuilds. The 2021 V2 swapped the chipset, which is why V1 and V2 controllers won't fly each other's aircraft, and the 2022 V3 added SkyLink 2.0 and the Smart Controller SE. That history matters more than the camera when you're buying used. Autel ended customer service for V1 aircraft in May 2024 and for V2 in October 2025, and the V3 is the version it still lists and updates.

Takeoff weight: 1,191 g, register it
Remote IDRemote ID not confirmed
Autel's EVO II V3 is on the FAA's Remote ID Declaration of Compliance list, and DroneDJ's 2023 list of approved Autel drones named only the V3. We couldn't confirm the 2020 to 2022 V1 and V2 aircraft, so check the serial number on the FAA's DOC site or plan on a broadcast module. At 1,191 g it must be registered with the FAA however you fly it.
Account lock
Autel doesn't document an account lock or an unbinding step for the EVO II series. Its apps take a login (Autel says one account works in both Autel Sky and Autel Explorer), but nothing we found ties the aircraft to it. Ask the seller to show it pairing and flying with the included controller.
Controller
V1 kits came with Autel's standard controller, which has a 3.26-inch OLED screen and holds your phone. The V2 changed the chipset, so V1 and V2 controllers won't fly each other's aircraft. V3 kits come with the Smart Controller SE, which has a 6.4-inch OLED screen and runs the app itself.
App and firmware
Autel Explorer flies the V1 and V2 from a phone, and Autel Explorer V2 runs on the EVO II Smart Controller. Autel's 2024 firmware notice for the V3 also runs through Autel Explorer. Autel set end-of-customer-service dates of May 31, 2024 for V1 aircraft and October 31, 2025 for V2, so factory repairs for those are over.
Should come with it
The controller that matches the aircraft version (V1, V2 or V3)
Spare batteries (Autel's EVO II packs are 7100 mAh, 82 Wh)
The charger
Check the listing photos against this list, and ask the seller about anything you can’t see. A missing piece should come off the price.
What to check
The big catch is versions. V1 and V2 aircraft and controllers can't be mixed, and Autel's customer service for both has ended, so repairs now mean third-party shops. Autel also notes that pairing fails when the drone and controller are on different firmware packages.
01Version: Ask which version it is, and look between the top sensors in the photos. A "V2" mark means a V2, and a Smart Controller SE in the kit points to a V3.
02Controller: Check the controller in the photos matches the aircraft version. A V1 controller won't fly a V2, and the other way round.
03Remote ID: Ask for the serial number and look it up on the FAA's Declaration of Compliance site. If it isn't covered, budget for a broadcast module before you fly.
04Batteries: Ask how many batteries come with it and look at each one from the side in the photos. They should sit flat, with no bulge or split seams.
05Gimbal and lens: Zoom in on the lens and gimbal in the photos. The glass should be clean and unscratched, and the gimbal should hang level.
06Crash history: Ask if it's ever crashed, and check the arms, props and shell in the photos. You want no cracks and no mismatched replacement parts.
07Firmware: On arrival, update the drone and controller together before flying. Both should finish on the same firmware package and pair cleanly.
We'd buy the orange EVO II Pro at $1,216 delivered, titled with the standard controller, two batteries and a case, under the bottom of the band. There are at least 15 listed and most ask $1,325–2,100 delivered, but new V3 Rugged Bundles from Autel's dealers at $2,099 set the top, and used ones ask $509 to $1,835. Ask which version it is, since V1 and V2 controllers won't fly each other's aircraft, Autel's customer service for both has ended, and only the V3 is confirmed on the FAA's Remote ID list. For a V1 or V2, check the serial on the FAA's DOC site or plan on a broadcast module, and at 1,191 g any version must be registered with the FAA however you fly it. Autel documents no account lock, so ask for a video of it pairing with the included controller and the gimbal leveling at power-on, and skip the $995 one from a zero-feedback seller.

The lowest-priced complete kit here, a V1 titled with its battery and remote at $509 delivered, but it's an auction with no bids yet, so it will climb. Autel's customer service for the V1 ended in May 2024, and a V1 controller won't fly a V2.
Autel Robotics EVO II PRO 6K Drone Model MDCP V1 w/ Battery & Remote
Titled with the standard controller, two batteries and a case at $1,216 delivered, under the $1,325 bottom of the band. The version isn't titled and the kit has the standard controller, not the V3's Smart Controller SE, so ask whether it's a V1 or V2.
Autel Robotics EVO II Pro 6K Drone Orange Standard Controller 2 Batteries Case
The V3 is the version Autel still lists and updates, and the only one confirmed on the FAA's Remote ID list. This used Fly More Bundle is an Adorama trade-in shown with the Smart Controller SE, at $1,835 with free shipping.
