Autel announced the EVO Lite series in September 2021 alongside the tiny Nano, and the first shipments only reached US warehouses at the very end of that year. The Lite+ is the camera-first version. Autel's own FAQ says the camera is the only difference from the plain Lite, and it's a big one, a 1-inch, 20 MP sensor with an adjustable f/2.8 to f/11 aperture where the Lite has a smaller 50 MP chip on a four-axis gimbal. Autel rates it for 40 minutes in the air and pitched that as the longest of any drone its size. It flies with the Autel Sky app and has built-in Remote ID, so a clean used one only needs registering before it flies.

Takeoff weight: 835 g, register it
Remote IDBuilt-in Remote ID
The EVO Lite+ is on the FAA's Remote ID Declaration of Compliance list, with a declaration accepted in October 2022. At 835 g it must be registered with the FAA however you fly it, and your registration lists its Remote ID serial number.
Account lock
Autel's FAQ has you activate a Lite-series drone in the Autel Sky app, through the controller, the first time you pair it. Autel doesn't document an account lock or an unbinding step, so there's nothing for the seller to release. Ask them to confirm it's activated and pairs with the controller in the listing.
Controller
It comes with Autel's standard remote controller, which holds your phone and has two USB-C ports, one for charging and one for the phone. Autel says the drone and controller won't pair if their firmware comes from different packages, so a listing with its original controller is the easy buy.
App and firmware
Autel Sky, which Autel lists for iOS 13 and Android 6 or later. It's still on Autel's app download page, alongside the older Autel Explorer.
Should come with it
The remote controller and its phone cables
Spare batteries (6175 mAh, 68.7 Wh packs)
The charger (Autel's adapter is rated 63.75 W)
Check the listing photos against this list, and ask the seller about anything you can’t see. A missing piece should come off the price.
What to check
Faults on the Lite+ aren't widely documented. The snag Autel itself describes is pairing, since the drone and controller won't link when their firmware comes from different packages. The fix is an SD card update that puts both on the same version.
01Registration: Plan to register it with the FAA before the first flight. At 835 g there's no recreational exception, and its built-in Remote ID covers the rest.
02Activation: Ask the seller to show it connecting in Autel Sky with the included controller. A short video of the live camera view on their phone is what you want.
03Batteries: Ask how many batteries come with it and look at each one from the side in the photos. They should sit flat, with no bulge or split seams.
04Gimbal and lens: Zoom in on the camera glass and gimbal in the photos. The lens should be clean and unscratched, and the gimbal should sit level.
05Crash history: Ask if it's ever crashed, and look at the arms and props in the photos. You want no cracks, chips or mismatched replacement parts.
06Controller: Check the original remote controller is in the photos. A matched pair on the same firmware pairs without fuss.
07Firmware: On arrival, update the drone and controller before the first flight. Both should finish on the same firmware package.
We'd buy the orange Premium Bundle trade-in at $757 with free shipping, shown with its controller and two batteries, at the bottom of the band. There are at least 10 listed and most ask $750–1,025 delivered, and a new white Premium Bundle at $900 sets the ceiling for a used one. It has built-in Remote ID, and at 835 g it must be registered with the FAA however you fly it. Autel documents no account lock, so ask for a video of it connecting in Autel Sky with the included controller and the gimbal leveling at power-on, since a drone and controller on different firmware packages won't pair. Skip the $1,373 Premium Bundle, about $470 over the new one here, and the $677 one from an 89.7% seller.
