The HS700D is from the generation before Holy Stone went folding. Its English manual dates from mid-2019, and it's a big, fixed-arm GPS quad, 434 mm across, with clip-on landing gear, propeller guards and brushless motors. The camera is a separate module that locks onto the body and plugs in by USB cable, and on the original version it records 2K at 2048 x 1152. A later 4K version moved to Holy Stone's Ophelia GO app. At 630 g it's the heaviest Holy Stone here, so it must be registered, and with no built-in Remote ID it needs a broadcast module before it flies legally in the US. Holy Stone no longer lists it, though its manual and app are still on the support page.

Takeoff weight: 630 g, register it
Remote IDNeeds a Remote ID module
The HS700D isn't on the FAA's Declaration of Compliance list, so in the US it needs a Remote ID broadcast module or must stay at a FRIA. At 630 g it must also be registered with the FAA, whether you fly for fun or for work.
Account lock
Holy Stone doesn't document any account lock or activation for the HS700D. Your phone joins the camera's Wi-Fi and the app shows the live view.
Controller
A 2.4 GHz Holy Stone transmitter with an LCD screen and a clip-on phone holder, running on four AA batteries (not included). Make sure it's in the listing.
App and firmware
The 2K HS700D uses Ophelia GPS, which Holy Stone hasn't updated in the App Store since October 2021, so test it on your phone before you rely on it. Holy Stone lists a 4K HS700D on the newer Ophelia GO app.
Should come with it
The camera and its USB cable (it detaches)
The transmitter and phone holder
Landing gear and propeller guards
Spare batteries
Check the listing photos against this list, and ask the seller about anything you can’t see. A missing piece should come off the price.
What to check
The 2K version's Ophelia GPS app hasn't been updated since 2021, which is the biggest risk on a modern phone. The manual's troubleshooting covers vibration from damaged propellers and a drone that tilts on takeoff until you redo the gyro calibration on a level surface.
01Version: Ask the seller whether it's the 2K or 4K camera. The 2K one uses the older Ophelia GPS app, the 4K one uses Ophelia GO.
02Camera: Check the camera module and its USB cable are in the photos. It detaches, so it can go missing.
03Remote ID: Ask whether a Remote ID broadcast module comes with it. Without one, add a module before you register it and fly.
04Registration: Ask the seller to cancel their FAA registration for it. At 630 g you'll register it in your own name.
05Batteries: Look for puffed or split packs in the photos. A flat, undamaged battery that sits flush is what you want.
06Frame: Look at the arms, landing gear and guards in the photos. No cracks at the motor mounts, and the guards should clip on.
07App: Install the app on your phone before you buy and check it opens. An app that won't run means no live view or camera control.
Only five HS700Ds are listed, so their $46 to $156 delivered asks aren't a market read, but we'd buy the black one at $138 delivered whose photo shows the box, remote and drone. Skip the $46 one from a zero-feedback seller and the one from a 92.9% seller. It has no built-in Remote ID, so in the US it needs a broadcast module or must stay at a FRIA, and at 630 g it must be registered with the FAA however you fly it. Ask whether it has the 2K camera, which uses the Ophelia GPS app Holy Stone hasn't updated in the App Store since October 2021, and install that app on your phone to check it opens before you buy. The remote runs on four AA batteries that aren't included, and the camera detaches, so check it's in the photos.
