Parrot announced the ANAFI Ai on June 30, 2021, and called it the first consumer drone to fly mainly over a 4G link. With a SIM card in the drone, it switches from Wi-Fi to 4G when the radio link fades, which Parrot sells as flying without a range limit. The frame was almost entirely redesigned around a big heat sink, the camera moved up to a 48 MP sensor, and the obstacle sensing uses two cameras on a gimbal that swings forward, up and down, one direction at a time. Parrot aims it at mapping and inspection, with Pix4D flight planning built in. It flies only from FreeFlight 7 on iOS.

Faults aren't widely documented. The limits are by design, since FreeFlight 7 runs only on iOS, 4G needs your own SIM and coverage, and the obstacle cameras watch one direction at a time.

Only three ANAFI Ais are listed, so there's no band to speak of. The one sold as working is new at $5,483 delivered, titled no returns, and the same seller has a used one at $4,535 delivered sold as-is, also with no returns, so you carry the risk on either. It has built-in Remote ID (turn on broadcast in FreeFlight 7), and at 898 g it must be registered with the FAA however you fly it. FreeFlight 7 runs on iOS only, so plan on an iPhone or iPad, and ask any seller to delete their data in FreeFlight 7 and take out their SIM card. Skip the $3,300 one from a zero-feedback seller in Spain, which ships by freight with no shipping quoted.
