Holy Stone HS900
The HS900 arrived in early 2024 with a new app, HS Sirius, and a spec sheet aimed at people who want a small drone that travels. It weighs 249 g with battery, props and card, and it hangs a 1/2.3-inch 48 MP Sony sensor on a 3-axis gimbal. Video tops out at 4K and 30 frames a second, at up to 100 Mbps. Holy Stone sold it in two editions, a 2.4 GHz standard kit and a 5.8 GHz Fly More Combo with two batteries and a hub, each with its own transmitter. Unlike the older Wi-Fi Holy Stones, your phone plugs into the controller by cable. Holy Stone kept revising it, and the manual reached version 3.0 by August 2024.

Before you fly
The rules, the lock and what it pairs with
Takeoff weight: 249 g, under the 250 g line
- Remote IDNeeds a Remote ID module
- The HS900 isn't on the FAA's Declaration of Compliance list, so it has no standard Remote ID. At 249 g, flown purely for fun, it needs neither FAA registration nor Remote ID. Flown under Part 107 it must be registered and fly with a broadcast module or at a FRIA.
- Account lock
- The HS Sirius app asks you to register and log in to a Holy Stone account and then activate the drone before the flight screen opens, and Holy Stone's FAQ says height and distance stay limited until you're logged in. Holy Stone doesn't document an owner lock or a way to move a drone between accounts, so ask the seller to sign out of HS Sirius.
- Controller
- Holy Stone's own folding controller with a built-in 3,900 mAh battery, with your phone plugged in by cable (Lightning and USB-C cables came in the box). The 2.4 GHz and 5.8 GHz editions use different transmitters (Holy Stone sells them as versions 3516 and 3519), so a replacement has to match the drone.
- App and firmware
- HS Sirius, which Holy Stone released in March 2024 and was still updating in 2026. It isn't the Ophelia GO app the older Holy Stones use.
Should come with it
- The matching transmitter (2.4 GHz or 5.8 GHz edition)
- Second battery and charging hub (the Fly More Combo had two batteries)
- Gimbal cover
- Phone cables for the transmitter
Check the listing photos against this list, and ask the seller about anything you can’t see. A missing piece should come off the price.
What to check
Holy Stone's FAQ traces unstable flight and odd tilting to a weak GPS fix or compass interference, and it wants 14 or more satellites before takeoff. If height and distance seem capped, the app usually isn't logged in or Beginner Mode is still on.
- 01Edition: Ask the seller whether it's the 2.4 GHz or 5.8 GHz edition and check the transmitter is in the photos. The drone and transmitter should be the same edition.
- 02Account: Ask the seller to sign out of HS Sirius before shipping. On arrival it should activate on your own Holy Stone account.
- 03Weight class: Check the photos for add-ons like prop guards or a strobe. It's only 249 g as Holy Stone ships it, and extras push it over the registration line.
- 04Gimbal: Ask for a short clip with a slow pan. The horizon should stay level and the picture steady, with the gimbal cover in the box.
- 05Batteries: Count the batteries in the photos and look for swelling. Flat, undamaged packs that click in firmly are what you want.
- 06Arms and props: Look at the arm hinges and prop tips in the photos. No cracks, and the arms should fold out square.
- 07Registration: Ask whether the seller registered it with the FAA. If they did, they should cancel it so the record isn't left in their name.
New to used drones? How to check a used drone covers batteries, gimbals and crash damage, and Remote ID and registration explains what the FAA expects once it’s yours.
Buying guide
Which one to buy
§ Oct 14, 2026No used HS900s are listed on eBay right now, so this page is four new ones at $350 to $352 with free shipping and one open-box kit at $418 delivered, too few to be a market read. Any of the new ones will do, and we'd take the $350 one from the 100% seller. It has no standard Remote ID, but at 249 g, flown purely for fun, it needs neither FAA registration nor Remote ID, and under Part 107 it must be registered and fly with a broadcast module or at a FRIA. Prop guards or other add-ons push it over 249 g. If you buy one used later, ask the seller to sign out of HS Sirius and check that the transmitter matches the drone's 2.4 GHz or 5.8 GHz edition.
